Tamar Ibanez, APRN-BC

Tammy Ibanez is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Kansas Health System. She received her training at St Luke’s College of Nursing where she completed both her BSN and then later MSN degrees. She has been working within cardiology since 2013, starting in the cardiac ICU as a bedside critical care/STEMI/charge nurse, and then transitioning to her current nurse practitioner role in 2020.

Tammy joined the University of Kansas Health System Cardiovascular Medicine Department in August 2025. Her focus is in general cardiology, preventative cardiology, GLP medications for weight loss and CV risk reduction, and complex lipid management.

Tammy also does educational talks for lipid and GLP management for local health clinics and nursing conferences. She is a speaker for Eli Lilly for Zepbound and Orforglipron.

In her free time, Tammy enjoys spending time with her husband Eric and their daughter Gracie.
