Professional Bio

Dr. Sadeer Al-Kindi is an Associate Professor and Jerold B Katz Endowed Investigator at Houston Methodist. He is a physician-scientist and a practicing preventive and imaging cardiologist. He received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine and went on to complete his training in internal medicine, cardiology and cardiovascular imaging at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He was recruited to Houston Methodist in July 2023. Clinically, Dr. Al-Kindi serves as the associate director for Cardiovascular Prevention and a member of the cardiovascular imaging faculty at Houston Methodist. As a researcher, Dr. Al-Kindi has published extensively on issues related to cardiovascular risk prediction and prevention. His research has focused on imaging markers of cardiovascular risk. Additionally, he also focuses on environmental determinants of cardiovascular disease, including nature access, neighborhood factors, built environment, air quality, and climate change. He has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications in top journals and is frequently invited to present in national meetings. He is funded by the Jerold B Katz Foundation, National Institute of Health, and the California Air Resources Board. He is an associate editor for the Journal of American College of Cardiology Advances and is on editorial boards for many cardiovascular journals. He has been recognized with numerous honors, including the American College of Cardiology Young Investigator Award, and currently serves in the ACC committees.
