Professional Bio

Dr. Laurie Margolies is a professor of radiology and vice-chair for breast imaging at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The 25+ breast radiologists she works with form a multi-modality breast imaging division focusing on patient-centered comprehensive care. Her research has included correlation of breast arterial calcifications with cardiovascular disease risk factors, breast density on CT, artificial intelligence, and the utility of prior reports to guide current screening recommendations. In October 2018, the beneficiary of a competitive NY state grant, Mount Sinai began offering mobile screening mammography services throughout NYC under Dr. Margolies’ auspices. Dr. Margolies is a fellow of the American College of Radiology and a fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging.
