Professional Bio
As a dedicated professional nurse of 18 years, Ms. Porter became enamored with the heart as a cardiac cath lab RN. She chose to advance her career as an FNP to use her clinical expertise to provide primary and preventative care for her community. Women’s Cardiac Care is Understudied, Under-recognized, and Under-diagnosed. Yet CVD remains the #1 cause of female mortality WORLDWIDE. Comprehensive and preventative cardiac care for females needs to start at an early maternal age. Birth control raises SBP, preeclampsia is becoming more common and leads to long-term CVD, estrogen is cardio-protective, so how does it affect perimenopausal & postmenopausal women as it fades? Seeking partnership, education, and action for the Women of the world, towards preventing, recognizing, researching, and treating CVD in females. Let’s work together to #FixBrokenHearts for our mothers, sisters, and daughters.
