Professional Bio
Prior to this role, I served as the Hypertension Lead for Westcliffe Health Innovations, where I managed resistant, postpartum, and young-onset hypertension. My clinical background is rooted in evidence-based medicine, with a proven track record of leading region-wide initiatives such as lipid optimization projects and developing specialist protocols for cardiovascular medicine.
Throughout my career, I have held strategic leadership roles, including Cardiovascular QOF Lead, where I spearheaded medication optimization for heart failure and lipids. I have successfully led numerous clinical audits, ranging from anticoagulant and aspirin use to heart failure pilot projects to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and therapeutic efficacy.
Beyond clinical practice, I am deeply committed to health equity. As the former Chairperson for African Women Sunderland, I successfully secured national funding to support community-based health and heritage projects. I hold an MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, and I am currently completing a senior leadership apprenticeship culminating in an MBA in Strategic Leadership. I am an active member of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society and am dedicated to advancing preventive cardiology by bridging the gap between clinical research and sustainable community health models
