Professional Bio

Alison L. Bailey, MD, FACC, FASPC, is Professor and Vice-Chair Department of Cardiology, West Virginia University. Her clinical practice focuses on the prevention of cardiovascular disease, women’s cardiovascular care and the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure.
Dr. Bailey has practiced in a variety of settings over her career and has always been involved in program building and expanding access to care for those in underserved communities and rural areas. She remains passionate about the joys of medical education, improving cardiovascular health for all and advocating for her colleagues and patients.
She currently serves as the Secretary for the American Society of Preventive Cardiology, is a member of the ACC HeartPAC Executive Committee, is the editor-in-chief of the American College of Cardiology's Extended Learning (ACCEL) editorial board, and is a deputy editor for JACC Advances.
