Beyond Statin Intolerance: Applying the New Dyslipidemia Guidelines to Achieve LDL-C Goals

This program will provide practical guidance on recognizing and managing statin intolerance, including distinguishing true intolerance from statin-associated symptoms and establishing a maximally tolerated statin regimen. Faculty will review how to apply the 2026 ACC/AHA/Multi-society Dyslipidemia Guideline to identify LDL-C treatment gaps and select evidence-based non-statin therapies to help patients safely achieve their LDL-C goals.

Lecturer

Ijeoma Isiadinso, MD, MPH, is a Preventative Cardiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine with the Division of Cardiology at Emory University School of Medicine. She is the Medical Director of the Emory Center for Heart Disease Prevention. Dr. Isiadinso earned a dual degree in Medicine and Public Health during medical school. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at Temple University Hospital where she also served as Chief Fellow in her final year. She is Board Certified in General Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography.

Dr. Isiadinso is a dedicated clinician and researcher. She was a member of the writing group for the 2025 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Management of Patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes. She is committed to cardiovascular disease prevention. In 2013, she was recognized as an American Heart Association Power to End Stroke Ambassador for her efforts to increase stroke awareness in the African-American community. For several years, Dr. Isiadinso has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Atlanta “Top Doctor”. She has also received the Castle Connolly Exceptional Women in Medicine Award annually since 2020.  She is passionate about preventing heart disease with special clinical interests in the management of complex lipid disorders, cardiovascular disease in women and cardiovascular risk reduction in patients with systemic inflammatory conditions.

Moderator

Kardie Tobb, DO, MS, FASPC, is board certified in general cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, cardiovascular computed tomography, and internal medicine. She earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine training at the Mercy Catholic Medical Center- Darby, PA and Fellowship training at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey.

As a non-invasive preventive cardiologist, her areas of interest include cardiometabolic disease prevention and women’s cardiovascular health, with an emphasis on cardio-obstetrics. Her global research interests include understanding the impact of social drivers of health on clinical outcomes, and helping to create ways this can be addressed appropriately. She also focuses on reducing disparities in access to health care in medically underserved populations. 

Dr. Tobb is currently the Medical Director and the founder of the Cone Health Heart and Vascular Cardio-Obstetrics/Women’s Heart Health program. Dr. Tobb also serves as the Cone Health system-wide Clinical Integration Officer with Cone Health Center for Equity. In this role, she focuses on developing strategies to improve access to care for individuals from vulnerable and under-resourced backgrounds. In addition, she is leading quality projects to implement operational efficiencies to address social drivers of health in at-risk populations.
