Her leadership and advocacy efforts extend nationally through active involvement with the American College of Cardiology (ACC), where she serves in resident leadership and contributes to advancing trainee engagement, professional development, and cardiovascular advocacy. She is actively involved with ACC Maryland advocacy initiatives and has advocated on Capitol Hill alongside physician leaders to support policies that strengthen cardiovascular care, improve health equity, and expand access to high-quality healthcare. She is also engaged with the American College of Physicians (ACP) Resident Leadership community, the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC), and the American Heart Association (AHA), supporting initiatives in cardiovascular education, communication, mentorship, prevention, and equitable care.
Dr. Phillips-Wilson has been recognized for her commitment to leadership and service, including receiving the ACP Governor’s Award. Her academic and professional interests include prevention of cardio-metabolic diseases, community-based participatory research, physician leadership initiatives, equitable healthcare policy, and translating public health principles into meaningful clinical and population health impact.
Her long-term goal is to become a cardiologist and physician leader dedicated to transforming cardiovascular care, strengthening healthcare systems, influencing health policy, and advancing equitable access to care for communities.
