Professional Bio
Dr. Shiwani Mahajan is a Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine. She obtained her medical degree in India and subsequently completed her Internal Medicine residency at Yale, graduating with Investigation Distinction. Dr. Mahajan also earned a Master of Health Science degree from Yale School of Medicine and worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Yale Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation. In this role, she led multiple national projects focused on assessing quality of care, health equity, and patient outcomes across hospitals in the United States.
Dr. Mahajan has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals including JAMA, Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and Journal of the American Heart Association. Her research centers on cardiovascular prevention, health disparities, and improving access to evidence-based therapies by addressing the social and structural drivers of cardiovascular risk.
She is an active member of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology (ASPC), where she serves on the Fellows-in-Training and Early Career Working Group. Through her clinical and research efforts, she is committed to advancing equitable, data-driven approaches to cardiovascular disease prevention.
