Professional Bio

Khurram Nasir, MD, MPH, MSc is a William A. Zoghbi, MD Centennial Chair in Cardiovascular Health, Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, and Chief of Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Wellness at the Department of Cardiology, Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center, Houston Methodist. He is also the Director for Center for Cardiovascular Computational Health & Precision Medicine (C3-PH) at Houston Methodist.
Dr. Nasir received his MD from Pakistan, followed by Master’s degree in public health at Johns Hopkins University. He completed his internal medicine residency at Boston Medical Center and cardiology fellowship at Yale University. He also received postdoctoral research training at the division of cardiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and at Massachusetts General Hospital.
In 2017, he earned a master’s degree in health economics and policy Management from London School of Economics & Political Science. Dr. Nasir's with more than 900 publications is recognized among the top 2% of scientists worldwide supported by NIH for his cardiovascular prevention and population health research, that has influenced international guidelines for integration of imaging towards early detection of heart diseases. Dr. Nasir's work extends
beyond traditional boundaries, shedding light on the profound impact of social and environmental inequities on health risks. Moreover, his research approach encompasses pioneering digital health programs that leverage big data analytics and foster multidisciplinary partnerships.
