Professional Bio

Adedapo "Dapo" Iluyomade is a non-invasive cardiologist with specialization in Preventive Cardiology and Clinical Lipidology. He serves as medical director of the Cardiometabolic & Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Programs at Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute.

He values involving patients in their care and fostering an environment of collaborative medical decision-making. He firmly believes that instead of treating the disease, our aim should be to treat the patient with the disease.

Born in Nigeria to an emergency physician and an attorney, education has always been important to Dr. Iluyomade. He completed his undergraduate studies at Emory University, majoring in Sociology. He received his medical degree from the American University of Antigua, graduating Cum Laude while also completing an MBA. He completed residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he had the honor to serve as Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine, overseeing a program of 160 residents. Dr. Iluyomade then moved to Miami for a fellowship in adult cardiovascular disease at the University of Miami - Jackson Memorial program, where he served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow in his final year.

Dr. Iluyomade is involved in the American Heart Association (AHA), American College of Cardiology (ACC), Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC) and the National Lipid Association (NLA) amongst others. He currently serves as an editorial reviewer for the JACC: Case Reports medical journal and a Social Media Ambassador for both the ACC and ABC. He has presented his scholarly work at conferences, published manuscripts, written book chapters and participated in medical quality improvement initiatives. He is currently the site primary investigator for clinical trials at the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute, and received a $50,000 grant to conduct COVID-19 research while at the University of Miami.

He also finds time to spend with family, travel and play recreational sports.
