This year the American Heart Association Council for Epidemiology and Prevention (EPI) and American Society for Preventive Cardiology (ASPC) joined together to establish the William B. Kannel, MD Memorial Lectureship Fund in Preventive Cardiology in honor of his dedication to the field of cardiovascular epidemiology. The funds collected for this lectureship will be used annually to cover the plaque, honoraria and travel expenses for the selected lecturer. The first lecture in Dr. Kannel’s honor was presented at the 2014 Annual EPI Conference.
